Jinna and Kandie, a Rescue Weimaraner

Pets are naturally part of our family. Unfortunately, sometimes they hurt and don't have the ability to let us know what is hurting or where the pain is. We get subtle messages that they may not be feeling their best and they are needing assistance.

There is also the time surrounding their final transition where their physical bodies are dying. Our pets know what is happening during this ending period of their lives and they oftentimes enter into this phase with grace and acceptance. But sometimes, they need help in relaxing and easing the stress and pain felt in their bodies.

Both of these periods in our pets lives can be helped and improved through therapies and practices that we offer.
Jennifer Walz is a Reiki Master and uses Reiki to help our companion animals with healing energy work.
Jinna Russell has completed training in CranioSacral Therapy for small companion animals through the Upledger Institute. The combination of these two therapies can help in a wide range of injuries, ailments and conditions. It is also very helpful with the anxiety and discomfort that sometimes accompanies the dying process.

CranioSacral Therapy is very effective in helping many conditions such as hip dysplasia, spine and neck injuries, cancer, Lyme disease, nerve irritations, laryngeal paralysis, behavioral problems ( such as fear biting in dogs), emotional problems(such as separation anxiety). These conditions can be addressed and helped with CranioSacral Therapy.

Animals can become stressed  from pain, age, deteriorating health as well as the hectic lives of their humans. A low level of anxiety from stress puts the animal in the fight/flight response. CranioSacral Therapy helps restore a balance between the fight/flight response and the rest/digest response of the central nervous system. This therapy works very well for animals who have undergone trauma.

CranioSacral Therapy is a very gentle, hands on therapy. The therapist uses a very light touch (approximately the weight of a nickle) to accomplish very deep work. Since the craniosacral system directly affects the central nervous system, an imbalance there could be responsible for causing any number of sensory, motor or neurological  disabilities or dysfunctions. CranioSacral work can help correct those restrictions by engaging the body's self-healing mechanisms so that the body can release the effects of injury, pain and stress.
